"The information in this compilation is based largely upon data received in response to questionaires sent to family associations, reunion committees and one-name societies. [Foreign listings have been excluded at this time.] By their very nature many of these organizations exist for only a brief period or lack the staff to answer queries, so in numerous instances [the author] was obliged to supplement the available information with details gleaned from notices appearing in the standard family history journals and newsletters. Clearly some entries are more complete than others, and the reader can assume that those entries which are comparatively full are from completed questionaires" -- Introd
